She:Kon, pronounced "Say-go" is a traditional Iroquois greeting that means "Do you still have the Great Peace?". The Great Peace is the cornerstone of the Iroquois belief system. We decided to call our boat She:Kon in part to honor these great First Nations people and the place we live, Iroquois ON.

Canadian Coast Guard turns 50 today
The organization that I've worked for for the last 31 years celebrates it's 50th Anniversary today.
